While we freely admit that publishing the books take a long time, a large portion of the work has already been done. Below is an indication of the progress made on each title.

Steps marked in green with a 'Y' have been completed and do not require further assistance unless faults are observed in the published text; the task we are currently focussed on is marked in yellow with an 'X':

The publishing steps are as follows:

  1. Scan: Scanning the raw text from the books and performing OCR to convert to editable text.
  2. Proof: Initial proofreading of the text to remove obvious errors.
  3. XML: Converting the text into the XML format used for publishing.
  4. Edit: Editing the XML to remove any errors including OCR, formatting and Errata errors.
  5. Comment: The final step prior to publishing, the pre-release book is checked with a fine-tooth comb to remove any errors prior to release.
  6. Publish: The book is published online.

After publishing, there is a continual revision process. Any faults, inconsistencies, etc. which are found post-release are discussed, queued and if necessary the affected book(s) can be republished.
