Maps of Magnamund update

To get the New Year off to a great start, Joe Dever is offering Free Shipping Worldwide on the Maps of Magnamund Set 1. The offer ends Jan 31, 2013.

I got my set for Christmas, and they look great. I am sorely tempted to frame one of them and put it on the wall of my study.

Thrice Good News from Project Aon

I have three bits of good news that I hope will brighten your week.

First is that we have published five new ebook formats for Lone Wolf 1-25. This includes mobi files for the Kindle and other devices, and epub files for many devices including the Nook. Much of the credit for this accomplishment goes to Javier. There are some known limitations of these formats, but if you spot any problems, please drop us a line so we can improve them.

Second, while it isn’t as sexy as new ebook files, during the time after publishing Trail of the Wolf almost a year and a half ago that we at Project Aon seem to have been stalled we have been taking the time to revisit the books that we’d already published. Over the years, we’d received lots of reports about problems with the books, but we just hadn’t found the time to fix them. So we paused and took care of that. Now we have republished Lone Wolf 1-25 and World of Lone Wolf (i.e. Grey Star) 1-4, including in all of our newest formats.

That brings me to my last bit of good news. Now that we’ve taken care of that, we can now move on to tackling the last three Lone Wolf books. Perhaps I’m too optimistic, but our lists of issues to address in these last three books are pretty short, so I’m hoping that they don’t take too long. So stay tuned.

For Sommerlund and the Kai!

Maps of Magnamund Collection

Following the success of the World of Magnamund poster map that Joe Dever and Francesco Mattioli launched last year, they are very pleased to announce the publication of an exciting new Lone Wolf cartography project: the Maps of Magnamund Collection – Set 1.

The Maps of Magnamund Collection will comprise 36 beautifully detailed Map Boards in total. A new set of 4 Map Boards will be published regularly, every 4-5 months, until the collection is complete.

These Map Boards are an original RPG concept. They combine a highly detailed colour map on the front, with a world grid and useful background information about the map area depicted on the reverse. Many new geographical features are included, along with special sites and locations never revealed before. There are also scenario ideas for RPG adventures specific to each area.

The Map Boards measure 233mm x 328mm (about 9″ x 13″) and are printed in color on strong 300gsm laminated art board. They come individually packed and labeled in a zip-loc bag. They are very collectable and ideal for framing & mounting.

Set 1 contains the following 4 Map Boards:

#1 Sommerlund (reverse)
#2 Durenor (reverse)
#3 Vassagonia (reverse)
#4 Dessi (reverse)

Set 2 will be available in March 2013. It will contain the following 4 Map Boards:

#5 Kakush and Valerion
#6 The Galdonlands
#7 The Stornlands
#8 Talestria

The official release date for Set 1 is November 1st, at the Lucca Comics and Games Show, Italy. The cost per set (4 Map Boards) is GBP11.99 / €13.99 / US$19.00. Mongoose Publishing are now taking pre-orders which they will ship worldwide on Nov 14.

Joe and Francesco will be adding the new Map Boards to their Lone Wolf maps website on Friday Nov 9. All Map Boards purchased directly from their website with be signed by Joe personally.

Update: I’ve just learned that Vincent Lazzari and Florent Haro of Scriptarium helped with the creation of these maps and are also currently offering preorders from their website.

Update 2: There’s now direct link to get signed copies.
