The first step in volunteering for Project Aon is joining the members' mailing list. This is where we discuss our work and communicate in general. Even if you don't intend to contribute directly to Project Aon, you're still welcome to join the mailing list. You can subscribe to the mailing list on the mailing list page.
If you're just looking for announcements, then this isn't the list for you. Join the mailing list mentioned on the What's New page instead.
