New Publisher Announced for Lone Wolf Books 18-28!

Mantikore-Verlag and I are very pleased to announce that an agreement has been put in place to publish Lone Wolf books 18-28. These will be high quality English language hard cover editions and will be produced in the same format as the Mongoose LW Collector Editions to maintain the integrity of the series. Matthew Sprange has kindly agreed to provide us with the necessary files for LW18 Dawn of the Dragons so that it can go to print as soon as possible. Mantikore-Verlag are aiming to release Lone Wolf 18 in time for the RPC in Köln, Germany, on June 1st 2013. I shall be attending the show. If you would like to go on the mailing list for news about LW18, send an email to mantikoreverlag@aol.com with LONE WOLF in the header bar.

For you, for me, for Sommerlund and the Kai!

[For more info on why the Lone Wolf books needed a new publisher, please read this previous post. —Jonathan]

Will 1-17 be made available again from anyone? I had only gotten around to buying 1-3 from Mongoose when they stopped.

This is the main thing I would like to know as well. I had only begun to start my collection when many were already out of print. No that mongoose has ceased to publish 1-17 I wonder how I am going to get the rest of the story in dead-tree format.

Great news! I’m sure we’ll hear further news about books 1 – 17, 29 – 32, AND the RPG over the coming weeks. Good luck to Mr Dever and all his LW partners!

I’ve been patiently waiting for several years ever since ‘The Story So Far’ for book 29 to be published by Mongoose. Hopefully now there will be some progress! Can’t wait!

I’m also looking forward to the possibility to buy books 1-17 and to complete the series with the last four 🙂
Unfortunately I attend too much to make an order :-\

I hope this time we will get all Lone Wolf books, com’on! 🙂

This is good news but I need 1 to 17 as well.

This is a huge part of why I’d been holding back from ordering. I wanted to be sure all of them would become available.

Hopefully at some point they will all be printed.

They will probably see how the series sells first. At least I would think so. I will buy the books they print just so they know that people will buy them and give them a reason to print them all. I think this is great news and look forward to it.

Same as Vincent above. Have been holding off until book 32 have been published.

Will be awaiting further news on how to go about purchasing 1 – 32 then.

Mantikore-Verlag is very happy to announce that we have agreed with Joe Dever to continue the publication of the Lone Wolf gamebooks, starting with book 18, Dawn of the Dragons. We strive after producing the books in a format as close as possible to the Mongoose hardcover editions so that you ideally will not notice any big difference between these two editions

We will tell you as soon as book 18 is available for pre-order. You will then be able to order the book at our homepage by going to: Shop / Books & Games / Lone Wolf Gamebooks. You can also place orders by sending an email to mantikoreverlag@aol.com. We are currently reworking our homepage to make it more accessible for English-speaking customers. We are also working on a way to make the books available through other sources (like your trusted online retailer).

We are aware that some of you are still missing some of the books 1-17 while others are desperately waiting for books 29-32. As soon as there is any news concerning these books, you will hear of it. Our main focus currently lies on seamlessly continuing the series from book 18 onwards.

We hope you are as excited about this news as we are, since most of the people working at Mantikore-Verlag grew up with Lone Wolf and are very happy to be part of the continued publication of this great gamebook series.

    For Sommerlund and the Kai!

I was just getting ready to buy the Lone Wolf Series from Mongoose Publishing 1-17 – now they are no longer caring your product. Will the New Publisher Mantikore-Verlag make the first run of the books avaliable again from anyone? Like Mongoose Publishing? I really like the Hardcover Leather Edition that Mongoose was publishing for your books! And why did you break your contract with them? We’re they cheating Joe Denver!

This is great news for those of us who were shocked to see Mongoose pull out, after such a fine effort on their part to produce the hard cover editions. Though the secondary adventures were variable in quality, there was no doubting the incredible bonus of having supplemental scenarios in addition to the main text. Mantikore have a lot to live up to – they will, of course, produce an English language edition dependent on the nationality of the customer I hope.

Exciting times ahead as the mission to release all the titles continues – for Sommerlund!

Mr. Dever I have books 1 – 11 and 14 – 16 I have recently been reading them again after 10 – 15 years even buying a few off of Amazon/Ebay to be able to continue with the books I needed or I did not have… I did see the books available to buy from Mongoose Publishing but seeing how it is no longer available… I hope you allow someone else to release the books as I would be nice to get a chance to read them as of right now all I own are books from 1985 – 1993 which are 20 – 25 years old!

So, I know it’s been a LONG time, but does anyone know if Mantikore-Verlag is going to honor the deal and finish the books that were announced above? I see that they’ve started new projects. It would be nice to have one project finished that was promised and paid for rather than starting a new venture….
